Interesting article just popped up on my Tweetstream: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/broadband/8304310/Cumbria-welcomes-the-French-broadband-invasion.html
Apparently someone tells me - it’s just a marketing spin on wireless connectivity and there are lots of solutions available for it. I have no idea - but interesting that it has managed to get a space in the national press again.
”It uses network capacity in the 42GHz and 12GHz spectrums” - short range, line of sight.
Folks are always looking for the Silver Bullet Kate!
30Mbps internet (whether same upload as download unknown) and HDTV delivered at 3Km range line of sight.
Cost of Access Points (aerials on mast) and cost of customer equipment (aerial on roof) both unknown.
Part of the FiWiPie possibly, if the price is right.
The performance level for internet access is already exceeded by the new GAB network already exceeds this speed for data http://gabrenewalproject2010.blogspot.com/
