Adding information to the top of your microsite

The top of the microsite is a good place to put contact details so that others can easily get in touch with you. There’s space for a picture too.

If you have trouble with any of the instructions on this page, please write to [email protected] and we’ll gladly give you a hand.

On the other hand, if you’re the local computer expert and you want to help someone do this, there’s some technical information at the bottom.

How to add the information

All the information in the box is held in a page called ‘Home‘, so you need to to edit that particular page.

To do this, you need to be logged in to your microsite. Go to the toolbar, select ‘Pages‘, then ‘Pages‘ (again). Then click on ‘Home‘ in the list that appears.

You’ll be taken to the usual post editing page. To put things in the different parts of the box, just rub out the text that’s there and replace it with what you’d like.

To put in a picture, click on the grey box next to ‘Upload/Insert’ as usual. The best size for pictures in the box is about 150×150 pixels - you can set this when you upload yours.

Once you’ve done that, click on the blue ‘Update‘ button and cross your fingers! When you go to the front page of your site, everything (accounting for taste) should look beautiful. If not, please send us an email by clicking here.

The technical details

If someone you know is having trouble with their header box, most problems can be corrected by editing the HTML of the ‘Home’ page. You need to make sure that the image and surrounding material are preceded by the tag <div class=”profile”> and followed by the tag </div>.
